Dirty burners and ignition parts
Boil-overs leave starch and grease in the little gas holes and on the ceramic spark tip.
How we test it
We clean the burner head and ports, then test the spark module and ignition switches.
Cooktops & burners
Gas burners, coil elements, glass and induction cooktops. We repair the burner that won’t light, the zone that won’t heat and the controls that stopped responding.
Symptoms
The igniter clicks, but the burner never catches, or catches only on one side.
A low, uneven or lazy flame that leaves soot on the pots.
One electric coil never heats, or it glows only at the highest setting.
An element heats at full power no matter where the knob is.
One area of the smooth top no longer warms or the display won’t show it.
Tick-tick-tick continues with the flame already burning, or starts on its own.
Causes
Boil-overs leave starch and grease in the little gas holes and on the ceramic spark tip.
How we test it
We clean the burner head and ports, then test the spark module and ignition switches.
On electric stoves the control switch or the element itself fails and the heat runs too low or too high.
How we test it
We measure the element and the switch under load to see which one is at fault.
Radiant elements, limiters and touch controls fail over time on smooth tops.
How we test it
We check each element, the limiter and the touch board for errors.

From a recent call: Downtown

Symptom: Front-left coil stuck on high and wouldn’t turn off.
