Blocked filter or drain pump
Food scraps, glass chips and labels collect in the filter and pump, and water stays put.
How we test it
We clean the filter and sump, check the drain hose loop and test the drain pump motor.
Dishwasher repair
Built-in and portable dishwashers that leave water behind, leak or stop washing properly. We diagnose it under your counter and fix it without removing your cabinets.
Symptoms
Open the door after a cycle and there’s still cloudy water in the tub.
Water seeps out at the door corners or under the unit and stains the floor or cabinet.
Food left on plates, gritty glasses or a white film on everything.
The panel lights up but the cycle never begins, or the buttons don’t respond at all.
Dishes come out wet and cool, and the dry cycle seems to do nothing.
A rough noise when the pump runs, or a hum with no water moving.
Causes
Food scraps, glass chips and labels collect in the filter and pump, and water stays put.
How we test it
We clean the filter and sump, check the drain hose loop and test the drain pump motor.
Gaskets harden, and spray arms, valves or hoses crack with age and heat.
How we test it
We run the dishwasher with the kick panel off to watch exactly where the water escapes.
Without heat or pressure, detergent can’t do its job and dishes stay dirty and wet.
How we test it
We measure the heating element, thermostat and wash motor and check the spray arms turn freely.

From a recent call: Mira Lagos
Bosch built-in dishwasher
Symptom: Showed E24 and left an inch of water in the tub.
What we did: The drain hose was kinked behind the cabinet and the pump was jammed with a broken glass chip. Straightened the hose and cleared the pump.
Useful tips
Safety first. For a leak, turn off the water valve under the sink and switch off the dishwasher circuit at the breaker until it’s repaired.
