Heating element or gas igniter
A heater coil that snaps leaves an electric model with no warmth at all. On gas units the culprit is usually a tired igniter or the solenoids on the gas valve.
How we test it
We measure the element for continuity, or watch the igniter glow and the burner light on a gas unit.
